Sarah Menkedick is the author of Ordinary Insanity: Fear and the Silent Crisis of Motherhood in America, out last April from Pantheon. Her first book, Homing Instincts, was longlisted for the PEN/Diamonstein-Spielvogel Award for the Art of the Essay. Her work has been featured in Harper's, Pacific Standard, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, The Guardian, Oxford American, The Kenyon Review, The Paris Review Daily, and elsewhere. She lives with her family in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
